Northwest DC is one of the quadrants of Washington, DC, and is a vibrant area with many notable neighborhoods, and a quiet suburban area towards the outskirts of the city.
More specifically, the boundaries of Northwest DC are roughly defined by the following streets and natural features:
- To the north: The boundary with Montgomery County, Maryland, is defined by Western Avenue, which separates DC from Maryland.
- To the east: Northwest DC is separated from Northeast DC by North Capitol Street and East Capitol Street.
- To the south: The boundary with Southwest DC is defined by the National Mall, which is home to many of the city’s famous landmarks and monuments.
- To the west: The boundary with Virginia is the Potomac River, which flows southward.
Some of the neighborhoods located within Northwest DC include Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, Dupont Circle, Foggy Bottom, Georgetown, Kalorama, Logan Circle, Mount Pleasant, Palisades, and Woodley Park, among others.
Northwest DC is filled with great restaurants, quiet suburbs, and plenty of fun things to do! If you’re considering making this vibrant area your new home, check out my current real estate listings.
